Anchor Cottage
There are so many sounds that you only really hear when you’re staying by a river. Waking up to the sound of ducks. Drifting off to sleep with the sound of a gentle breeze tickling on a mast. A vast array of birdsong that I’m gradually starting to recognise…
During the day when you’re not kayaking or walking the South West Coast Path you can sit and read a book in a relaxer and soak up the sun. Our balconies get the last of the evening sunshine so you can sit and enjoy the birds and keep an eye on what’s going on at Bridgend Quay.
Anchor Cottage has a shared private slipway for direct access to the tidal River Yealm.
You’ll be able to launch our kayaks either side of the high tide and paddle off up the river to the sea and explore along the coast until you find your own place to sit and rest in the sun.
Or hire a paddle board and nip along to one of our three excellent riverside pubs for some wonderful local food and maybe even a glass of something nice…
2 allocated parking spots, ideal for two families or for a car and a boat trailer
Great for bikes, boats and boards. Also and outside tap for rinsing off your wetsuit and rails for letting them dry overnight.
Kitchen, dining area and lounge on the 1st floor to make the most of the brilliant views. You can even sit on the balcony and watch the sun set.
