Christmas at Anchor Cottage – Ho ho ho
Christmas will be incredibly special this year as it will be the very first one for Anchor Cottage under my guardianship!
I’ve enlisted the help of my Christmas elves Noss & Mayo to get everything ready for your luxury break. We’ve put up the tree – a potted Nordic pine so totally sustainable and we will be looking after it very carefully so that it can spend every Christmas here at Anchor Cottage. John Lewis have provided the simple and elegant baubles and the warm white lights are so very, very pretty.
Scandi Christmas
I’ve always been a ‘less is more’ kind of gal so decorations are natural and – like the rest of Anchor Cottage – inspired by our scandinavian holiday in 2019. I found that the pared back design ethos in Norway, Sweden and Denmark just helped to calm and relax me, and that’s what you want from a holiday isn’t it?
Your welcome basket will now include the wonderful honey made by our very good friend Simon. Simon keeps hives here on Dartmoor and makes the most delicious honey, I promise that you will be able to taste the difference, I’ve never tasted anything better! You will still get all the other local goodies, including an award-winning pot of Clare’s Preserves and a special Christmas present from me – you’re welcome!

Spent the most wonderful weekend in the most beautiful of spots. Noss Mayo is a hidden haven of ye olde fishing village tranquility. Anchor Cottage is perfect. Well decorated, sparklingly clean and very comfortable. Standing right next to the water front, access to paddle boarding and Kayaking is super easy. Cannot wait to return.
Such a beautiful house right on the edge of the water. So peaceful and really easy to get out on the water in kayaks (provided!) or see the sun go down with a glass of wine on the balcony. Really clean, great amenities and lovely attention to detail. I will definitely be back and will recommend to all my friends and family. Noss Mayo is the hidden gem of Devon and Anchor Cottage is just perfect.
What a wonderful surprise for my special birthday to be brought to Anchor Cottage by my lovely family. We found the house perfect for our needs and very sociable – making the most of the gorgeous views of course!!

Beautiful water front location with stunning views of the Yealm estuary. The perfect getaway. Clean, cosy and spacious. Great in all weathers.
What a wonderful break, the house was perfect for our needs (and our dog). We all thoroughly enjoyed our first paddleboarding sessions and have now added ‘SUPing’ to our vocabulary! The views from the balcony in the evening sun are breathtaking. We are all looking forward to comining back so farewell for now & thank you!
