Master Bedroom with balcony
I do believe that once this dreadful epidemic is over we will cherish each day that we are allowed to get together with our friends and families. The simple things like just being to hug a friend who is having a hard time or letting my boys see their grandparents. It’s tough but a very valuable lesson about the important things in life.
😴😴😴I’m having crazy dreams at the moment and the recurring one is having a cold beer on a Friday night at The Ship Inn, Noss Mayo 🍻 it’s going to be so special when we can finally visit our wonderful pubs and restaurants.
⚓️⚓️⚓️Anchor Cottage is still closed at the moment and we await updates from the government about when it will be safe to open up to guests. As soon as it is safe to do so I’ll let you know straight away!
In the meantime I thought you might want to see our photos of the redecoration. So today I’m going to share the before and after photos of the main bedroom.
Anchor Cottage is a mews style cottage in a converted Malthouse that was done in the early 80s. I wanted to refresh the decor and pay respect to the industrial role that the building has played in it’s waterside setting.
The Master bedroom – The Coaster – has a wonderful Juliette balcony so that you can throw open the doors every morning and get the full benefit of the amazing views.
⛵️🛶🚣♀️🏊♀️Right outside is Newton Creek that links to the tidal Yealm Estuary. This means that at high tide (there’s a timetable in the hall) you can grab your paddle board/kayak/canoe/swimming trunks and get straight into the water using the Malthouse’s private slipway.
🥐🥖🥨At low tide it means you can stick on your flip-flops and use the Voss causeway to nip over to the Community Post Office in Newton Ferrers to grab a paper & a fresh sourdough loaf or croissants (courtesy of @bakehousesalcombe) for breakfast.
☕️☕️☕️The bed is deep and so comfortable that you’re going to need a really strong cup of coffee to get you out of it!!! [There’s a John Lewis Coffee maker in the kitchen on the first floor]
We’ve put a set of drawers in the large double wardrobe to give more space and less clutter in the bedroom. I just find it so much more relaxing and easier to sleep if my bedroom is clean and Marie Kondo’d to the max! I have taken her mantra of ‘Sparking Joy’ into the ethos of Anchor Cottage, leave the clutter behind and allow your holiday here in Noss Mayo spark your joy…
I hope you like it and I hope we will see you soon…..
